Often those who battle monsters become monstrous themselves. In ages past in a faraway realm, a hunter of demons, monsters and other nightmarish creatures came to the end of his wits. He was faced with a lifetime of battles and fights that would only temporarily stop the incursion of these horrors, but never fully prevent them. And when the day came that he died, there would be no one to stand against them to protect the realm.
His dark thoughts drove him to dark places, and he tried even more extreme measures against the blackened hordes. One of his many creations in his neverending war is the Tormentor, a whip created from the barbed and serrated tongues of demons. Even after being ripped from their owners’ maws, these tongues are still sentient and always hungry for mortal souls. They never leave a physical mark, but the damage they inflict is terrible, nonetheless.
